GREAT BARRIER REEF Australia

Dear JIAGGJ,
The great Barrier Reef is so big it can be seen from the moon. It is made up of thousands of different corals, all beautiful shapes and colours..
AND I have snorkeled over it!!
As I don`t like being underwater, it was a challenge, I was of to a very shaky start and Grandad knew I ws panicking when I was clinging round his neck with my flippers flapping! Eventually I managed to get my mouth closed over the snorkel and kept the water out.
With heads underwater and holding hands (aah - but I wouldn`t let go!) we spent an hour watching the beautiful fish darting around us and the coral which were waving in different shapes. Once we had a huge black fish beneath us (the size of Jack lying on the floor) - I was finning away from it and Grandad was finning to get nearer. A baby shark had come into my mind but it was onlya grouper!
It was a fantastic day and I`m proud of myself. Grandad was a very good teacher,
Love you all lots
Grandi xxxxx

Jenni tell your teacher that you have been scared and ask her to go back to being led until you want to do more. Don`t listen to Alexander`s advice!
Abi keep up the good work - amaze me when I come home.

Congratulations,on your bravery, with your flapping flippers. You seem to be having a wonderful holiday. It's thrilling to have this geography lesson.Love Sheila

Hi Mum & Dad,
Wow! That sounded beautiful though I would have been in the flipping away camp even with a small dark shadow below - I've seen Jaws too many times!
Result! Have finally got going on my photo's and books going back to JUL! - Gemma came this morning & for 1 1/2 of the 2 hours I had peace. At one stage Jack was even laughin his head off in the kitchen - it made me laugh so much I dribbled on my photo album - too my shame! Majorly peaked this pm as didn't get to bed till 1 midnight last night. Jen & I had a FANTASTIC time at the X-Factor Live. Jen was totally wowed by the whole thing and was so thrilled to see Ray. Ben & Leona were fantastic & they even bought Shaun on (the really nervous young lad who didn't get through) and he sang a song and got the biggest cheer of the night. True to form on coming out my sense of direction let me down & I went the wrong way on the M42, the next junc was shut so ended up on the M6 heading in the wrong direction so added another 3/4 hour to our journey time - Luckily Jenni slept in the car. Georgie had Trampolining tonight but doesn't want to go again as is rather sensitive about her friend teasing her all the time - calling her Georgie-Worgie when she knows she doesn't like it - so we shall see. She's very good though tonight she was doing bum drops (don't think thats the offical name) tucks & star jumps.
Anyway that's me for now - Enjoy the trip - Lots of love Abi XXXX

Sounds great - glad you enjoyed that.

All OK here, just heard from Neilson and I'm off to Ortakent, Turkey for the summer. It's the next bay along from Bitez where I started all those years ago! Have told them I want to start the 23rd April which hopefully means I can pick you up off the coach and catch up before I head off again!

Seeing the girls this weekend at Abi's so will be able to let you know if this stuff about being a new cooking superwoman is true or not!

Love
Duncan

Dear Mum and Dad
You are following in my footsteps, I was up in Cairns for 6 months, camped up in the Tropical rainforests and took a catamaran out to the reef. I told Alexander he would be able to go one day too and he tried really hard with his swimming today.
Struggling along with yet another stinking cold and up all night coughing. Didn't get tea and sypathy this morning so wait till Don catches it I'll be sending him away with a flea in his ear!
So far two parents evenings under my belt and just Grace's to go. I think Alexander is missing his Grandi as one of their concerns is he is stalking the older teaching assistant. Apparently he is refusing to leave her support group even though he no longer neads it and has been attaching himself to her like a shadow since Christmas! And she has a bob - only joking!!
Took Isabella to a Brownie trip at Bletchley library and she was desperate to visit the charity shops but luckily they were all shut..
Don's work going well, they say they might keep him to July but keep making the permanent staff redundant. The man who sits next to him was called in and sent home redundant yesterday after 25 years.
No choir practice tonight, phew just Issy swimming so I will see if I feel up to it.
Thinking of you all the time, I can't believe you're only half way it seems a lot longer but I think looking at the map you've got the most interesting part to come.
ps emails re appointment changes and bills sent yesterday.
Love Becky

hiya, it sounds like you are having a fabulous time, I have not been to the barrier reef, but I understand what you mean about sydney, have you made lots of new friends from the ball!
Went to Brighton at the weekend with nicky and we had a fabulous time and I even had time to clean the windows! Saw a different side this time to Brighton as we both hit a few pubs, although we always ended back in the basket makers, not much walking as nic does not do much walking, had a fantastic breakfast in bills the whole works.
Liz and clive have booked to go and abigails friend casander are both down in march.
Take care
Love JO xxx

Becks: You'll get lots of tea and sympathy at the weekend! Though saying that Georgie, Jack and I came down with a bit of a stinker last night as well so we can all wallow in misery. I'm furiously popping the homeopathic pills I bought in Brighton to hopefully ward it off.
Thur: Mum & Dad - Hope you are both O.K. Really nice thought that we'll see you next month but I'm really glad you are having such a fantastic time. Took Jack swimming and I still can't say he particulary likes it - the most enjoyable bit seems to be the shower afterwards. Then spent an hour trying to get him to sleep and he's finally off - phew! Peace!. We're all feeling a bit crap (yet again) but it didn't help that I had a very late night on Monday and then Tuesday Rob and I HAD to stay up until 11.30pm as we HAD to watch the last episode of 'Shameless'. We've been here 6 months and Rob still hasn't been able to tune in the TV channels properly so we can use the video recorder ****Little note for the weekend****We'll have to see if Don or Dunc can suss it out!!!!!****It was early to bed for everyone last night so nothing particulary exciting has been happening here this part of the week. Bye for now Abi XXXXX
p.s. BECK****I'll ring anyway but if you see this can you please hunt down our humane mousetrap as we need it back at the weekend as the cats lost one in the utility room a couple of days ago.....

Dear Mum and Dad
Eagerly awaiting your next port of call, think you must be en route to Papua New Guinea, very exciting.
Abi - thought I'd given you back the mousetrap but Don says it's in the garage and we'll hunt it down. We haven't had any mice for ages.
Jo was supposed to come for tea last night but we both cancelled because of the lurgi, I had a better night's sleep last night so did a fairly non shouty school run this morning. Managed not to have to return to school with all the book bags and dinner money!
Alex was upset after school, said he was being teased about his trembling chin and his friends called him Scaredy Cat, oh I so wish he wasn't so gentle and sensitive. It's the first time he's noticed it as I've always tried not to mention it. Isabella was outraged and dragged me over to his headmistress at choir to claim he was being bullied - well she always looks after the under dog- of course Alexander had forgotten all about it by then..
Don was supposed to be off today but was called in at the last minute because of a VERY IMPORTANT PROJECT, so bit annoyed as we were getting all those tricky jobs done like servicing the car, having the radiator fixed and getting Issy to the book fair at school.
This is still to come at 3.15pm, three mad children and a packed hall full of interesting books to buy, trying to think of some way of getting out of it but Issy has already chosen the books she wants I can't get anything past her.
Stop press - have booked Alexanders party at Mead Farm on Sat 12 May at 2.15 so we will probably just do a birthday tea after school on the Friday.
Everyone very excited about going to Worcester, Isabella has been planning the menu for the journey since Monday, I think she thinks it will be like going to Scotland.

Lots of love
Becky and all
