BAY OF BISCAY LAST BLOG!
Dear JIAGGJ,
Years ago I decided I would like to go round the world - just once - before I was too old!
Well I waited until my children were grown up. then I looked after my Mother when she needed me, then I waited until you were all safely in the world and then it was my time.
I was pleased when Grandad said he wanted to do the trip as well and it has been a wonderful journey. We have been to places we never dreamed of seeing and have unforgettable memories (and 100`s of photos as well!)
So if there is somethind that you want to do when you are older, remember this.
Work hard, save your money and one day your dream will come true.
Love you all.

This is a beautiful island and as we have been here before we have just had a wander about revisiting favourite spots. Is is nice and warm so we hope England is warmer than we left.

LAS PALMAS GRANDE CANARIA
Dear JIAGGJ;
Nearly at the end of our trip around the world and so looking forward to seeing you all.
This is a big city and we are only mooching around looking at the shops (yes Grandad but only because he is looking for shoes!) We have had 5 days looking at the sea, sea sea!
But dolphins and flying fish have passed us by and this time we saw them.
We have been dancing on the ship nearly every night and all our clothes still fit us.
Lots of love to all,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

WALVIS BAY NAMIBIA
Dear JIAGGJ,
A bumpy ride into the desert on salt roads and as we were on the back seat our bottoms got battered!
But what a sight! Miles of gigantic sand dunes as far as you could see. We had a climb up one but with our legs we didn`t get to the top.
Love to you ALL

CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA
Dear JIAGGJ,
Well, last night when we got to our room we had a chocolate bunny and some eggs on a plate waiting for us so it felt like Easter after all!
Today we have bitten bunny`s head off and guess who had it?
We had another beautiful day and went to the top of Table Mountain in the cable car which holds 60 people and the floor goes round so you have a good view of how far the ground is below you! Our tour also went to the fort but there are no soldiers there now.
In 12 days we will be home and are so looking forward to seeing you all. I hope you have all your spots on the map because we have got a few prize just in case you all managed to do it?
Today we are in the Internet by the Waterfront so I could write a long one. I only have half an hour on the ship`s card so I think I will be able to find places in the Canaries and Madeira but probably not in Namibia.
Lots of love as always,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA
Dear JIAGGJ,
Well Cape town looks beautiful with the city below Table Mountain (Table because it is so flat on top)
But we have been down among the Shanty towns where the poor black people live and it has been something to open your eyes. They are not as good as garden sheds and have no water or toilets. We spent this morning learning the history of this country from the time when black people and white people were made to live in different areas and it was against the law to mix.
This afternoon we went across to Robben Island on the ferry to where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years. (Your Dads can explain who he was)
Tonight we are on the Waterfront and there are a lot of people out and about.
In the Indian Ocean we saw dolphins and some whales. We have passed the Cape of Good Hope and are now in the Atlantic Ocean so we are heading for home.
It is very strange to be here on Easter Sunday - not a single egg!!
Love you all lots and lots,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

DURBAN SOUTH AFRICA
Dear JIAGGJ,
Escaped the city of Durban by travelling 2 hours through sugar cane fields and villages and hills to Shakaland - the home of the Zulus.
The Zulu village was constructed for a film but is now a living and working village. We had a show of dancing and the War dance was quite scary! Enjoyed seeing how they lived and worked.
Happy Easter to you all. We hope the Easter bunnies remembered your eggs.
Love you all lots,

PORT LOUIS MAURITIUS
Dear JIAGGJ,
We are in the land where the dodos lived. There are different stories as to why they died out, one is that they were eaten by the Portuguese sailors as there was no food on the island years ago.The dodos came to the beach to meet the sailors and was like a huge pigeon that couldn`t fly
Their name in portugese means "stupid"! I wonder why?
We docked in Port Louis but have toured the north of the island which has lovely beaches and hotels.
18 days to go!
Lots of love to you all

MAHE SEYCHELLES
Dear JIAGGJ,
Beautiful island with green covered hills and white sandy deserted beaches. The giant tortoises roam freely in some parts. The famous coco de mer palm trees have nuts that take 45 years to grow (that is older than your Dads!) and sell for 75 pounds.
Grandad and I had a lovely swim in the warm water of the Indian Ocean amongst the fish. Mouths were firmly closed!
Missing you all - home in 19 days.
Lots of love,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
