Hobart Tasmania Australia

Dear JIAGGJ,
Lovely day with My schoolfriend (and bridesmaid) Sylvia and Philip.
Turkey eggs for breakfast from the market below their apartment. They are also close to the harbour and there were wooden sailing ships in.
Went to the top of a mountain where there were the sacred grounds of the Aboriginals (the original occupiers) and into jail, but only for a visit. That must have been a terrible place with tiny cells and a flogging yard. People from England were transported to Hobart for simple things (such as stealing a loaf of bread). In those days it was a dreadful place but now it is a beautiful place.
We were at the farthest point away from you so now every day is on our way back.
Thinking of you all as I write.
Love and hugs,
Grandi
PS hope all the spots are up to date I will be checking!!

Comments:
Jo this one got through well done. Hope the new job is going well.
Issy no we haven`t made any new friends - we don`t need to as we have all our special people in England.
Grace well done getting to the top of Arthurs seat. I was puffed!
Abi still smiling at Jack in the fridge

How lovely to see Sylvia - never realised she was in Australia. Edna Whitehurst lives there too but don't know where.Love Sheila

Sun 10.15pm: Arrived safetly from Brighton - Took 5 hours to get there from the Dentists in MK - Accidents on M25/M3 & M4 but thankfully the kids were brilliant. Only 3 hours to get back (but still felt alot longer than 'normal'). Got back an hour ago, unpacked & kids in bed so just checking in & will write a proper message tomorrow. Sadly lagging behind with our spots but we'll catch up again this weekend (need a moment of quiet - & don't seem to have had much of them at the mo). Newsflash: Matthew Brookes (Dentist) phoned me & him & 2 other have left K.Adams to set up their own practice in Broughton, MK. Caught them a bit short as they weren't req'd to work their 3 months notice & apparently they're covering the appointments with locums. Rob had his hygientist appt en-route to Brighton but we're waiting until Easter for appt's with Matthew at the new dentists - He asked me to let you & Beck's know. I gave him your blog site to check your progress! Did have one 'You've been framed' moment with Spratley as he was standing by the sandpit in the Paddling Pool Play Area. I told Rob to stand with him in case he fell over, but he said he was O.K. 5 Mins later he suddely upended over the wooden fence and cartwheeled into the sand in the sandpit - He was O.K. but a bit shocked - bless him! We're all much better a good bit of sea air seems to have shaken off the germs, though had 2 very bad nights with Jack. 3rd night G & J woken by Jenni at 4am thinking it was morning & we ended up with him in bed with us then obviously he'd had too much fun as he woke up again last night for a repeat episode. He was having a great old time lurching around the bed grinning & laughing & needless to say - I was not best amused!
Jo has left the flat really nice so you definately left it in the best hands.
Till tomorrow - Lots of love ABI XXX
