SUVA FIJI

Internet place.
DearJIAGGJ,
Well what a day! We had a lovely drive in a bus with no windows and both of us stuck to the plastic seats! But it was lovely countryside, very green with hills and mountains in the distance. Some of the houses are small buildings with tin roofs but others were still single storey but more luxurious. We saw fields of cows for the first time and the place is more developed than Tonga.
We saw an interesting folk show and the fire walking ceremony when they walk over hot stones in bare feet without pain!(auch!)
Then a tropical storm and the bus back had plastic rolled down over the windows. It was very hot, like sitting in an oven.
Now we are back in the town amid the traffic and shops and people. Not very inspiring but Grandad is having a nice rest next to me while I am busy trying to find the right letters. We think of you all.
I wanted to buy you a fork that was specially made to eat people(a long time ago) one was smaller for the eyes ears etc and a bigger one for large lumps of meat but Grandad thought it would not be popular with your Mums and Dads!
Love to you all
Grandi xxxxxxxxxx

Hope you are enjoying your adventures. We had lots of snow in MK last night and all schools are closed. Parents all over Catesby Croft are struggling to cope but little ones are delighted.

Dear Mum and Dad
Fiji sounds very exciting I'm amazed you even found an internet cafe! New Zealand will be fantastic, nearly there.
Well we don't need a world trip for shock and awe, the look on their little faces when they woke up to a thick blanket of snow, Grace was completely dumbstruck. Alexander was out the front door before I'd even come downstairs.
We can't even get up the hill its that bad, they've never known anything like it for years.
Lucky don has escaped to London on the train, but who knows when he will return.
Bad week with Issy really poorly, off school, so unlike her and too exhausted to even moan, but I think shes turning the corner and her bad headache is gone. I've been in bed too apparently this is the sickest month of the year so we're only sticking with the statistics.
Scotland next week if the weather improves so might not be in contact for a while. But I will try and call someone at the Clockhouse to check on the house.
Love Becky

So far weather OK in Congleton!Cold but covering of snow has gone- perhaps more later.

Thur: Well what a day - Our Garden has seen some fun today with Julia, Paul (Hannah & Lauren), Sue (& Holly) and Wendy (& Minnie) joining us to make what I must say was a rather fantastic snowman. Did help having a man on the job as Paul wouldn't let the kids build up until they'd got a firm base so it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts. On & Off we had people in and out all day with me just managing to clear all the mess up before Rob got back (the place had been trashed). Jack had had a bit of a relapse and had been back to the sad wet lettuce today so I'm hoping he'll turn the corner with this sometime soon. The bets are on that the schools are closed for 1/2 term now which is a bit of a bummer as I've got to get a serious food shop tomorrow as we've got Kev & Helen coming for the weekend. Changed our mind and decided to have a takeaway Sat night - Sunday lunch seems a big enough effort at the moment. Lots of love Abi XXXX
***DUNC*** Are you O.K. you've been pretty quiet on the blog front??? The exercise bike has been in 3 days & only the kids have used it so far. Weighed in at 11 stone for the second day running - The lightest I've been since I had kids - almost 8 years!!! Good old Jo with her Cuppa-Soups!!!

Cripes Ab give me a break, I've only missed two posts so far. That's a lot more regular contact than when Mum and Dad are in the UK! Don't have as much news with it only being me and being pretty healthy (touch wood).

All fine here, off to London tomorrow. Snow not so bad here, got to work OK and mostly gone in the rain.

No major plans for the weekend, rugby perhaps.

Love

Duncan

Please blow a kiss towards Orakei in Auckland. I'll tell Sarah to catch it.Raining here now and I'm off to London tomorrow to a meeting.Love Sheila

Fri: Still snowing all day in Worcester so kids dead chuffed to be off school again. Disasterous trip to Tesco in the snow with 3 kids. Jack awoke from a sleep & screamed round the store so abandoned ship and came home so still no food for visitors (Bit like the time when you came to stay Mum) so I'll be back in Tesco's tomorrow morning - Could do better! Lucy and Jamie are so excited about coming up as they haven't had snow in Torquay. Really looking forward to Brighton next week. We're not going till Wed but Rob's only going into work Mon am as Andy & Rachel are holidaying in Gloucester so are coming over Tues pm. Lindas coming to Brighton with us Wed-Fri and I have a cunning plan to get Jacks milk into the bedroom the moment he starts to murmour and we may well get a lie in - fingers crossed! Getting things more in perspective now - we'll all get better soon! Love you lots & lots & Lots & will stop MOANING!!!!!
Glad you're having a fantastic holiday and give my love to all the Bickerton's Abi XXXXXXXXXXXX

Grandi & Grandad,

On Friday I got a spocial achievement certificate for my story about Selkies (traditional Scottish fairy tale characters). I learnt about them at school.

We had lots of snow but it has almost all gone now. We made some great huge snowmen.

I miss you both so much.

Love,
Issy XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Dear Grandi and Grandad
Looking forward to hearing your news when you reach shore again.
The things I do for you..
Very worried about the house in all the blizzards so made it over to the Clockhouse on Thursday in the snow to make sure everything ok. The Clockhouse looked beautiful, I have never seen it look so much like a picture postcard and the garden was a complete blanket of untouched snow. I did think if only I had Alexander with me he would have loved to have sledged down the hill. Everything is ok and no problems from the snow and all the mail taken and dealt with so you can relax. I did manage to have a bit of a near miss with the car as I slid backwards down the hill and ended up on the other side on the road on the pavement but luckily there was nothing coming and I just managed to give myself a fright. In fact I had such a fright I went back to the house in search of comfort and was delighted to find there was still some pick and mix left. Unfortanately it was rock hard, a real disappointment!

Discovered Dobbies in Fenny Stratford and really enjoyed a day out with the children there. The tropical fish were great and they did really nice food. I met up with Laura, Julie and Helen, plus their children and caught up on the gossip.

Alexander at a party today and managed to totally fail to do the birthday card. First attempt he just sealed it without any writing, luckily I checked, and the second he addressed it to Poo Poo, see he can spell very well when he tries!!

Isabella felt well enough to go to Stagecoach and seems much happier, looking forward to their sleepover in Scotland.

Will check on the house again before we leave.
Love Becky
pass on our congratulations to Kelly and Simon, have a great time with all the relatives.
