SYDNEY

Dear JIAGGJ,
We have had a wonderful time here. Last night we had a memorable visit to the Opera called Sweeney Todd. It was about a mad barber who cut up his customers so his girlfriend could put them into pies!!(But it was only acting!)
Today Neil, Cathy Chris and Sarah met us at 9.00 and we were straight up to the top of Sydney tower- very ,very high up. then throught the Botanical Gardens to the Rocks, lots of little narrow streets and shops. Sarah took us to an Ice Bar were we wore thick coats, boot. gloves and drank out of cups made of ice. The room had ice sculptures and very cold.
We were sad to leave them.
Lots of love my darlings,
Love Grandi xxxxxxxxxx

Dear Olwyn & Iain,

Judy did not know how to use the blog site, hence her notes went to your hotmail address. Now the "expert" is on the job, we're right.

We are likewise disappointed that we didn't catch up. Never mind, though.

We went down to the harbour at 0530 to see the QM II come in, What a sight!! She came within 50 yds of the shore at our vantage point. Amazing!! I thought she was getting close to running aground since the tide was pretty low, but they (the captain and pilot) knew what they were doing. Then I went to work and Judy stayed at home for the day. At 1800 we boarded a boat called Bass & Flinders and went around to the harbour to welcome the QE II, one boat among what seemed 1,000's. Another great sight!!. There were about 200 on our boat. We were supplied a disappointing cocktail meal and we stayed around for the fireworks. After this we disembarked and went around to Circular Quay to the QE II and peered into the windows, longing to be back on board and wondering why we didn't try to extend our trip.

Then we went out to the South Head of the harbour to see the QM II off. This time she was a long way off and we were caught in a bad traffic jam wending our way home. We finally got to bed about 0130 Wednesday. A very long day considering our "reveille" at 0400 Tuesday.

Now we are back in the real world, earning a $$ and wondering when we will next cruise on the QE II or even the QVI.

We have started ballroom dance classes so we're better equipped for next time. Judy has also taken up table tennis in this vein.

We hope that we can keep in touch now we know how to work the system. We look forward to your future reports as your cruise progresses.

Love Ian & Judy.
P.S. We don't have a web page.

Hi Mum

Yes you'll miss both shows as ones in March and the other is on the 11 to 14 April. Can't be helped, even though they will be fab!
