MUMBA I INDIA
Dear JIAGGJ,
"Gateway to India" - so called because everything that came into India came through this port and from this port spices were exported around the world.
People, traffic jams (55 thousand taxis) beautiful buildings , sky scrapers and slums, all packed tightly together into this city.
We escaped to Elephanta Island on a luxury boat ( plastic seats tied on, holes in the floor and a barefoot Captain. There was a huge cave dug out of the hillside and filled with stone carvings - 1500 years old. Fabulous! There were 121 steps up to it and if we wished , we could travel up in "palaquins" just like the Rajahs did years ago. But as they were kitchen chairs tied onto 2 poles and carried by 4 assorted Indians - we declined. We want to get home to you all in one piece!
Lots of love to my little darlings,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Mum and Dad
I think the Indians would probably be more at risk that you. Carrying Grandad up a big hill after all those big cruise dinners, they'd probably have to get the A team in!
Another date for the diary Monday 30 April picking Grace up 12.30 and having her until 3.00 and then Tuesday possibly picking Alex and Grace up if I get held up. I have been badgered by Isabella into helping out on a field trip to Ivinghoe beacon for Geography to do some surveys.
Phew so glad this week is over hard boiling eggs and decorating them with the children last night finished me off. Espcially as they kept cracking and wrapping tape just didn't help. Alexander in big trouble at school and called into headmistresses office. Him and Owen had been caught going out of the school at play time and thought it very funny when they were told off. Their story was they'd seen a rat at school and were off to Loughton council to see an official to complain. As you can imagine Don and I were very worried, but I don't think he'll do it again.
Play went very well and Alex real star, he sang his heart out and did a lovely bird dance. I did want to go and sort him out as his trousers were at half mast and he'd pulled his beak so far down his ears were at right angles but at least he enjoyed himself and was very pleased with himself.
Breaking up for Easter - two weeks off, we're planning to go to the lambing day with Jo on Good Friday and then driving to Brighton on Easter Day to catch Abi and family before they leave.
Love Becky

Hi Mum & Dad,
I would have gone for the ride on the kitchen chair - sounds great but agree with Beck Dad might have been a dodgy passenger.
Well where to start - Sat Night & I don't even feel as good as 'Death Warmed up'! Had a fab night in Bosa Nova - we bopped till we dropped, well until 1am when the lights went up - Felt VERY BAD on Fri morning & really pleased I don't drink. Managed to survive the Easter Bonnet parade in Assembley though Jack managed to get the Fire Door open in the lobby and was off into the playground (took my eye off the ball for a minute!). Julia came round at 11 and we lazed around with the kids until Mums & Tots then Sue did all the kids a party tea and I had Lauren whilst Julia and Sue went with Georgie, Hannah and Holly to the Little Ones Disco (5.30 - 6.30 & they had to have 1 Adult per 2 children). Sue Smith arrived for an overnighter and Paul stayed for a cuppa when he collected Lauren. All going really well with Sue's new Man & was really nice to see her so happy. This morning Rob & the girls took Fat Boy (Felix) to the vets for Booster Jabs, etc so I took Sue (& Jack) on our circular tour of Worcester (Town Centre, Friar St, Cuppa in Cathedral, Riverfront WAlk & back). Lunch then Sue went home. All afternoon Ironing & Tidying (Rob planted my lovely 'Life Begins at 40) Rose sent to me by Beck, Dunc & Jo. We're getting quite a 'Garden of Remembrance' up by Poppy) & now I feel like crawling off into a dark hole and sleeping for a very long time........Role on my lie in at the Hatton Court Hotel - much needed now - the sad conclusion is that I just can't hack it anymore.... (Must be my age.....)Love to all Abi XXXXXXX
