RABAUL PAPUA NEW GUINEA
Dear JIAGGJ,
Yesterday we had a hot, dusty mimi-bus ride around this island of volcanoes. As one was still smoking, we were glad to be back on ship!
13 years aogo, a volcano spewed lava out which distroyed the town of Rabaul, there were few houses left. Also the rain causes land slides which wash away the roads..
This is a very poor country - many people came to the port to see "the big ship."
There are schools and the children are very happy and want to talk to you. A lot of the houses are just shacks on the edge of the thick jungle. ( Only snakes and wild pigs in there!)
They have so little and we have so much.
Today we are sailing the Pacific again (4 days to Japan) We marked the crossing back over the equator with a whisle this time - I think they had run out of spaghetti!
Lots of hugs and miles of xxxxxxxx
Grandi.

Alexander you have the Sinclair chin like Uncle Dunc Grandad and others. Just tell people you inherited it and it doesn`t have anything to do with being scared.

Hi Mum & Dad
Thanks for the 'Postcard from Sydney' Loved the picture & is this a gentle reminder to send you a message every time I use the computer? I don't need a reminder as I think of you both everyday.
Had a really good day today as Jack was a real star. After a dodgy start trying to contain his at Assembley (Georgies class showed what they had learnt for the Chinese New Year), Jack played in the garden for an hour whilst I weeded (again!) & then slept in the pram in the garden for 1 1/2 hours - Result! Beck will be pleased to hear that I put that time to good use - Flapjacks and Cottage Pie for the kids tea on Sat (I felt under pressure to perform!!). Julia, Sue & Kids came round after school so that was nice.
(Andy P: You're obviously managing to get this page as Rob says you can quote me word for word but you're obviously having problems publishing your message so I'll show you how to do it when I see you next week).
Really looking forward to seeing Beck, Don the kids & Dunc's at the weekend. Will keep you posted Abi XX

Hi Guys,
Welcome back to the Northern Hemisphere. Sounds like you are having a ball - read quite a few of the comments.
I am sure that Rebecca has updated you on my move from WS to Broughton.
Can you see the lunar eclipse - it should be even better at sea without any light pollution.
Hope the sea legs are good.
Cheers!
Matthew

Dear Mum and Dad
Thanks for the mouse mat, it was lovely to get some post from you and I will think of you both when I use it.
Got the pictures from Abi and loved the Titanic one, I can see why Dad liked it, very James Bond.
House ok have just returned from checking it and collecting mail.
Fantastic weekend with Abi, Rob, children and Duncan, really funny night with lots of wine and a take away and all really late to bed. Very windy morning! The children were so happy to be reunited and all played together really nicely. Jack loved Alexander who slept in with Abi and Rob as he was desperate to share with Jack. Abi is not telling lies and you can tell that she has lost lots of weight, I saw the evidence with my own eyes on the scales, not far off 10 stone. The children ate for England, especially the cottage pie and the roast dinner and rice pudding, they just kept coming back for more and Issy said it was the best weekend for ages. (We don't get out much!) We managed a four pint rice pudding and a £7 joint of pork, we couldn't believe our luck!
Tired but happy we're just bringing them back to planet earth and an early night for us. We were waved off with a little cheer and a promise of a return visit in 2009..
Lots of love Becky

Hi Mum & Dad
I’m cutting & Pasting here so see how I go. Just had another 23 pound extra on my bill for internet use so it’s spurred me on to try a different approach. Should have broadband by 12th March so will get better. Had a lovely weekend with all the family (minus the important ones of course!). Dunc felt he’d been sold a dummy (yet again) as although he had a room to himself with a comfy futon, I forgot to mention that the curtain pole had fallen down at the side (well jack doing a tarzan had pulled it down) so he was woekn at 7am by the sun coming up (at least it wasn’t the children!). Have waited for someone from school to put the pole back up since Dec but have now got Ron (from the Pub) & his mate Carl coming next week to do a few odd jobs. The girls were totally beastly at going to bed. What with Georgies coughing and her and Gracey falling out over a teddy and then Issy and Jen chatting and Giggling, they were all still asleep when we went to bed after 12, but at least they all stayed upstairs and we had our takeaway in peace. The boys were the stars of the night as Jack went to bed in the travel cot in our room without a murmour and Alex was desperate to sleep with Jack so came in our room on the proviso he didn’t wake Jack up and despite Jack’s snoring stopping him going to sleep for ages he stayed quiet as a mouse and didn’t wake him up as promised. Think it was just Beck & Don’s ploy to get all the children out of their room but they ended up with Grace instead. Beck bought little Easter Eggs ( a bit early but who cares) so they really enjoyed the Easter Egg Hunt in the garden yesterday. Real shame about the weather today as we’d planned to go for a walk up the Malverns but it poured all day. The kids had a lovely time anyway so it didn’t matter. Jack was in his element, he loved having so many people to play with. Even Dunc must have enjoyed himself as he didn’t go until mid-afternoon. I’m hoping to hear some very good reports on Becks blog entries! Lots of love for now Abi XX
Just seen Becks message 'Just off 11 stone' not '10 stone' - I wish!. Beck's now I've tidied up & all the jobs have been done would gladly have you back again before 2009 - but not for a couple of weeks!
Before Beck & Don came had our first expedition to Lower Wick Swimming Pool - nice but basic but very quiet so the kids had fun & were trying to get Georgie sorted with swimming lessons. Auntie Josie was going to come over for a bit to see everyone today but when I rang she'd had a bad night with her legs & wasn't feeling great and didn't really want to come out in the rain so we put it off until there next visit. I got her a copy of you & Dad on the QE2 photo so she's looking forward to me popping that in in the week.

Dear Mum and Dad
Well its official, the Tillings can party, we were so tired when we came home that I was in bed by 8.45 and slept right through until 6.30am!
Children very grumpy this morning and didn't want to go to school. Isabella has new theme that she wants to share a bedroom with Alexander and knock through to the family bathroom so they have their own ensuite! She even has plans drawn up, major hissy fit when I said no, but I'm still so full of cold that if she carries on I'll get a hammer and do the job myself! Went to school in a real huff that she can't move bedrooms this morning.
Lots of people working on the conservatory today we came home to pools of water on the floor so obviously the leak not fixed.
By the way we had a toast to you at the weekend, I got a bit muddled up and said departed friends...Luckily Rob noticed the mistake. We even mentioned that we miss you so much we would have gone to the Kamtong with you, but I'm sure once you get home we'll quickly get over it! Anyway we'll be thinking of you Dad on your birthday.
Children had a great time with Duncan, particulary writing a show together - Forever Friends, which was very good.
Everyone very keen to see the Tillings again, we were all sad to leave. The house is looking really nice, especially the new curtains and blinds, Abi has very good taste - although I still find the dinosaurs a bit of a nightmare. Don enjoyed the beautiful views.
Thinking of you both
Love Becky

Hi
Just a quickie as the kids revolting (especially Jack). Jack had his first session at Tumble Tots at Having a Ball in Malvern & loved it (& slept well after!). Tonight going to see Music & Lyrics at the Cinema with Julia and Sue so just trying to quickly do my Tesco order for tomorrow morning though been a bit traumatic with Jack trying to go 'Uppp' 'Upppp' all the time as he loves to to press the buttons.
Love you lots Abi XXXX
