SINGAPORE
Dear JIAGGJ,
This sky-scraper city is very clean, no graffitti and no crime. Punishment is very harsh for wrong-doers but it has made it a safe place to be. It was a showery day.
We went to a famous old hotel called"Raffles" for a "Singapore Sling" which is the thing to do in Singapore. Also we had whole peanuts on the tables and everyone threw their shells on the floor - which was also the thing to do but don`t ask me why! This was after we had been to the Changi War Museum with photos, drawings and first hand stories showing the conditions there during the last world war( which was going on when Grandad and I were little. )
The day finished with shopping - well looking really but it still finished us off and we were glad to get the shuttle bus for the half hour journey back to the huge working port we were docked in, not a pretty place!
Missing you all and enjoying hearing what you are up to,
Lots of love and big hugs,
Grandi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Mum and Dad
You might have had showers but we've had more snow! Not as bad as last time but still very pretty.
Singapore sounds very interesting, you're living the high life having cocktails during the day and visting famous hotels. Not sure about the bit with the peanuts sounds like a chimps tea party bit like teatime at the Morrisons!
Dunc - thanks for getting the tickets Isabella is really looking forward to seeing you in the show. She is practicing so hard with her guitar that she has broken one of the strings - that's what she told me anyway..
VERY IMPORTANT - it seems we have had cross wires with Abi about her birthday, she will only be around from 1.30pm until 3.30pm as she is going to the dentist with the children. I am away in the morning and picking up the children at 1.00pm and going straight to Dobbies for 1.30pm. Therefore we weren't sure if you wanted to drive all the way to MK just to see Abi for a couple of hours? I will be going back to Jos afterwards for tea and maybe a walk round the lake so you are welcome to come there with us if you want but I won't be around before lunch and neither will Abi as she is at a hotel and Linda will have the children.
Let me know what you think, Beckyxx

Hi Mum & Dad,
Bit of a sad week as Wed morning, Mark (next door) found Poppy dead on their drive as she'd been knocked down in the night. Luckily Rob was here first thing so we took the children to see her before he went to work. Luckily again Mike and Stuart were gardening next door and they kindly buried her for me, at the end of the garden, by the fence. After school I went to the Garden Centre with the girls and we bought a Rose to plant there - Georgie chose one called 'Good Life' which seemed appropriate. and Georgie & I lit a candle that burned all evening (Jenni was too busy playing with Isla and Shona next door!). It seemed really sad as she was so young but she did live life to the full and did like to go over to the other side of the road (and the cars do come past so fast). It knocked me for six a bit of Wed/Thurs but the girls weren't fazed at all - Jenni was negotiating whether she could have aa rabbit or a ginea pig now as her pet had died and it wasn't fair as Georgie still had Felix. Felix was a bit wandery on Wed but since then seems very pleased with himself as he's getting showered with attention. Beck and Jo have been towers of strength so they've got me through the week and it really cheered me up to have Marie and Robin to stay - They're really nice people and the children really liked them. They got the full works last night Chicken Paprika and Rice Pud & sat through the Celebration Assembley at school this morning (as Jenni had wanted them to come). The girls were thrilled to take Jessie the dog for a walk with Robin before school so it's been a really novelty. Looking forward to the weekend - staying at Linda's as I've got the Theatre on Sat night with Beck & Cathy.
Birthday parties: Jen/Georgies - Art/Dance party - Sat 19th May 2-4, BBQ at home Sat 9th June.
M's Mum has all gone a bit mad as she had a go at Julia after school this morning and really upset her when she's done nothing. It needs to be resolved but difficult to know how.
Lots of love to all

p.s. Dunc: Are you around this weekend???& what's the damage for the tickets?? Abi XXXX
