PORT LOUIS MAURITIUS
Dear JIAGGJ,
We are in the land where the dodos lived. There are different stories as to why they died out, one is that they were eaten by the Portuguese sailors as there was no food on the island years ago.The dodos came to the beach to meet the sailors and was like a huge pigeon that couldn`t fly
Their name in portugese means "stupid"! I wonder why?
We docked in Port Louis but have toured the north of the island which has lovely beaches and hotels.
18 days to go!
Lots of love to you all

The view from the bridge of the QE II looks good - mountains in the background in Mauritius. One of my sister-in-law comes from Cape Town so it will be interesting to read your comments when you get there.I shall miss your news when you return. Perhaps you will be letting me know how the family history is progressing.Love Sheila
Dear Mum and Dad
Thank goodness Abi's birthday is over I rather bit off more than I could chew! Anyway it was worth it to see her face when she saw everybody waiting for her in the conservatory. I think I've spoken more to her friends in the last few weeks than my own, but it shows how much they think of her as they were all really enthusiastic and keen to come. Eve and Sharon couldn't make it but they called her at Jo's and even Katie came over in her lunchhour to drop off a present. I rather lost control of the situation before we'd even sat down to eat, as Duncan was collecting all the children in a big garden trolley and wheeling them around the car park. They were having the time of their lives 14 children all having lunch at a huge table, the adults were really outnumbered. Alexander was keen to show Jack all the fish and Issy and Jenni were sitting drawing behind the pot plant. Dunc, Jo, Abi and I all went back to Jo's afterwards and she did a special tea for Abi (Don was at work), and we had another cake for Duncan and he opened his presents from us.
We planned a walk but the children were having too much fun exploring Jo's upstairs, Alexander trying on Jos wedding outfit - oh dear and all generally very loud.
Finally got back at 7.30 but it was 11.30pm before Isabella finally dropped off to sleep and she is the hissy monster this morning.
All well at the Clockhouse, Les has turned on the water and finished the surfaces.
Brickhill Wanderers - The Last Confession MK Theatre Thursday 21st June 7.30pm with Bella Italia meal afterwards
Village Quiz Wednesday 16th May
with Supper - interested?

Tues: Off to Brighton for a few days so will update you all on the news when I return.
Nice day out today with Sue, Julia & kids to Queens'something' Country Park 'somewhere' 40 mins drive away from here. Had an Easter Egg hunt in the woods so the kids had a great time. After Isla came to see if Jen & Georgie could play with them for a bit so had an hour tidy & packed for Brighton. 7pm Rob's back to once he's organised we're off.
Lots of love to all Abi XXX

Hi Mum and Dad
Show went well, Thursday was probably the best night but everyone who came to any of the three nights who gave any sort of feedback seemed to have enjoyed it.
Felt very flat for a few days after, partly I guess as it was all over but partly that not that many people I knew came to see it. Intelectually I understand why, for some it was a bit of a trip, for others they were pretty busy with other rehearsals and shows but still felt it.
Nice day on Monday with the girls. Went over early and had the morning cycling the towpath, Simpson to Gifford park and back then down to the three locks and back. Very nice in the sunshine.
43 tomorrow! Not got anything special planed, rehearsal in the evening. Need to start getting sorted out for leaving. Had a laugh with Rob on Monday as the car is a litle dirty and we did think it would be quite funny to leave it like that for Dad (don't worry I won't).
Enjoy the rest of the trip. Thanks for the poem, I have it for my big day.

Dear Mum and Dad
Firstly and most importantly,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUNCAN!!!
We were all thinking about you today, don't be too flat - you're just about to head off for a summer in the sun with lots of fit women, and no boring work or responsiblities. Anyway when you come back why don't you try out living in MK again, we have loads of drama groups here and you could even get Isabella involved..
Well we are as usual sharing your special day! 9 years married and both of us forgot until yesterday. I was feeling a bit flat too, as everyone seems to be away and Don very busy in London but was greatly cheered to receive a lovely bunch of flowers from Alex and Mary, they remember every year. I got Don a rubik cube and some heeleys, the children can't wait for him to get back from work and give us a demo, I've told them to always run in front of him, I don't want anyone getting crushed!!
We're going for a walk round Caldecotte lake later and meeting Cathy at 3.30pm when she finishes work for tea in the pub.
Make the most of your time on the ship, South Africa and Namibia will be a real highlight, you are going to feel very down when you get back.
Love Becky
